The Golden Source International Award was established by Larry Guoin in the spirit of fostering a strong academic community in which the learning and scholarship of every member may flourish with vigilant protection for the rights and freedom of speech, academic freedom, and freedom of research.

Application Eligibility

To be eligible for the Golden Source International Award,

  • you must be at least 18 years of age
  • have applied for the EAP program, and paid your EAP tuition in full, or be a returning student

 

Application Guidelines  

  • Applicants must submit a written short essay answering the Composition Topic listed below (maximum 500 words)
  • The application and short essay must be completed 10 business days prior to the start of the student's EAP program.

Scholarship Award Criteria

  • The writing is persuasive, cohesive, and presents and supports an argument or position
  • Scholarship applicant displays potential as a writer 
  • While the scholarship composition may contain errors in organization and mechanics, these errors do not seriously detract from the writer’s message

Marion Edith Dubin Memorial Scholarship in English ($750 CDN)

The Marion Edith Dubin Scholarship in English was established in memory of Marion Edith Dubin and is awarded to a student who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study at Queen’s School of English.

 

Application Eligibility

To be eligible for the Marion Edith Dubin Scholarship in English Award,

  • you must be at least 18 years of age
  • have applied for the EAP program, and paid your EAP tuition in full, or be a returning student
