
QBridge is an English language pathway for students who have been given a conditional offer of admission to a Queen's University undergraduate program.
To be accepted to QBridge, students must apply to a Queen’s University undergraduate program through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).
There are two options for QBridge entry into the university. QBridge Accelerated takes place in July and August and the English for Academic Purposes program is run year-round with QBridge intake in September. You will be automatically placed in the appropriate program based on your standardized test score.

*Students move into their undergraduate studies as soon as they meet the exit requirements.

An international student qualifies for domestic fees if that student is in any of these categories:
a. A person who is the dependent* of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
b. A visitor, and his/her dependents*, who is allowed to work in Canada with a valid work permit with a specified employer in Canada
The status of all international students who are qualify to pay domestic fees must be fully supported by appropriate documents and valid during the academic period for which they have been given domestic fee status.

Program Overview
QBridge Accelerated (QBA) is a university-preparation program offered to students who have received conditional acceptance to an undergraduate program at Queen's University. It provides students with academic English language training prior to their studies at Queen's University, preparing them for successful integration into all aspects of university life.
For 8.5 weeks students participate in the intensive English language program at Queen's School of English (QSoE), completing the program in time to enroll in full-time degree studies in September provided they meet the minimum required grade in the QBA program.
To complete the QBridge Accelerated program, students must receive a certificate and a minimum average mark of 73% (B). Students who complete the QBA program are permitted to enter undergraduate studies without having to take another standardized language test.
The Program consists of three compulsory courses: QBA Core, QBA Critical Reading & Analysis, and QBA Presentation & Seminar Skills. All of the courses are immersive and student-centered. Do I need to submit a separate application from my undergraduate application?
No, there's no need for a separate application. We will receive the list directly from the admissions office for all eligible students who have accepted their conditional offers.
When can I expect to receive my invoice?
Invoices will be sent once we have finalized the attendee lists. It's important to note that you don't need an invoice to make your tuition payment. The tuition amounts are provided below and should be paid through your SOLUS account before your program start date.

Summer accommodations are available on campus in Watts Hall which is centrally located on campus near Kingston’s beautiful waterfront pathway. Watts Hall features modern decor, semi-private washrooms, and common spaces for relaxing and studying. Rooms include an adjustable bed, desk, armoire, and curtains.
Please note: Students who do not pass the QBA program are ineligible to live in residence in the fall, and will be asked to leave residence at the end of August. If you have concerns or questions about this policy please contact reshouse@queensu.ca.
Here are a few important details to keep in mind as you plan your summer stay on campus.
- Once you fill out the survey we will add you to our reservation system. A residence representative will connect with you and ask you to call their Front Desk with your credit card number to complete the payment process. This will happen after May 6th and before your check-in date.
- The deadline to reserve your spot is June 4th. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as possible.
- If you need to move in before July 4th, please let us know your preferred move-in date on the reservation form, and we will confirm availability.
- Choose between a 2-bedroom unit for $1,510.00 per month (30 days), or If you are willing to share the bathroom, the rate is $755 per person per month. Rates include weekly housekeeping and linen service.
- If you choose to share a bathroom, we will match you with your preferred gender.

Program Overview
Students who do not meet the requirements for QBridge Accelerated, but are academically competitive for admission will be considered for QBridge EAP if they meet the minimum standardized language test scores:
To complete the QBridge EAP program, students must receive a certificate and a minimum average mark of 73% (B) in 150 or 80% (A-) in 140. Students who complete the QBridge EAP program are permitted to enter undergraduate studies without having to take another standardized language test. Students can enter their degree studies in any term once they meet the conditions of their offer.
